byebye summer....
i really enjoy summer... summer 2007 was one of the most memorable one.. perhaps i intentionally enjoyed it!!! i just followed the advice of my aunts and uncles to enjoy this summer...
aside from this will be the last summer before i enter med school, the things that i experienced spiced up the heat of the season...
hmmm... where should i start??? with lots of things i experienced, my words are mixed up...
well, i should say i had a wonderful bonding with my blockmates..the block outing was one of my first gimmicks... who would forget the palatable dishes served by Mr and Mrs Esguerra? from lunch bunch of seafoods, to the grill of delicious bar-b-q, the soft puto, and many more... and the next day we were once again served with oysters and tahong, and sour sinigang??? hmmmm... and above all the food we ate, the wonderful time with my UP blockmates matters most.....how i wish i could post our pictures in multiply.... (sorry blockmates, i'm not the internet queen anymore....hehe =p)
another memorable moment were the time i had with my relatives... it was a good opportuntity for me to bond with my cousins.. too bad my sis Tami, missed all the fun because of her ojt... sori sis..maybe next time... hehe... well, we went to different places.. swimming in Cuenca, Batangas... without the presence of the oldies.. hehehe.. and the next day, we went to Tagaytay..
but prior to the fun, an uncle of mine passed away =( the uncle who was confined in PGH and took care of for weeks.. he died of lung cancer.... who would expect him to say goodbye that fast? well he's now on the care of our good Lord... and on the 31st of May would be his 40th day....
dormies... how can i forget you guys... we had so much of bonding moments... which started at Ads's place in San Pedro!!! the junk food, all the asaran and kwentuhan, who would forget Linney, as always the center of our attention.. haha!!!!! then there goes our overnyt swimming party?? ooops, it was Lai's celebration.. hehe... and it was my first time to cook pasta for quite large number of people.... and i'm glad the people appreciated what i prepared for them.... =) i want to do it again.. cooking is really my passion... so i am looking forward to the next dormie or any friend of mine who would love to taste my sensational pasta! haha!
i almost forgot... my first formal work... i got involved in a research on Kidney Donation with people from Japan and UP Diliman... i happened to be an interviewer, and we got a good pay for that... but more than the pay, i value more the lessons i learned from each one of the donors i interviewed.... and the lesson i learned from the project itself.. and people are so nice... and we were treated as the youngest in the group... but our age gap did not hinder us to enjoy and fit in the group.. they are all so nice.. we have different profession, different outlook in life, yet that 2 days of work introduced me nice people in the world, and of course, gave me a "mommy" and "daddy"... i miss you mommy lea and daddy totoy! haha! ^_^
what else? ummm.. yah! another first and -est experience in my life.. perhaps one of the most intese, greatest, funniest, worthwhile experience!!!! it regained my excitement in entering med school.. for a while i forgot that i am a die-hard doctor-to-be... but thanks to Bryan, a good friend of mine from MU Sigma Phi, invited me to their Oplan Tuli project in Angono, Rizal.. it was a blessing coz i happened to be staying in Antipolo... so i easily said yes, even though i haven't been in Angono... but i am a risk taker, so i went to the place i have never been to, only with me are the directions given by my auntie, and confidence! and so i reached the place, and wow! everything in that room are first time... the first time i saw circumcision, and do it! yeah, i did it! thanks to a very great teacher, Lord (yes, his name is Lord, and of course thanks to the greater Lord who made me logical during that time to follow what was taught)...
first, he told me the important steps in med: (1) you observe; (20 you do it; (3) you teach.. and in my case, i observed, and he was teaching... i was also taught of the instruments used, injecting the anesthesia, cutting the thread... and until later, do the whole process! of course at first i was guided by my teacher... and later, i was able to do it on my own... hay... it was a breath-taking experience.. during the procedure, i just felt relaxed.. only after that i felt like shaking.... yeah, my legs shake after.... haha! i could not believe i just finished the procedure...maybe i was luck enough to have people believe in me, which i will always bring with even after becoming a doctor!!! because of that experience, i concluded that there are really good guys in UP Med... i hope i could also meet good people in my med school... which i am positive^_^
well, with all these stories, may be you could figure out how much i enjoy my summer right??? now that summer's about to end, and i have a new world to face, i just wish i would still manage to enjoy.. i've already enrolled, so there's no turning back.... the only thing that could help me stay positive is get excited... yeah, i'll be a medical student SOON.... very SOON.... ^_^
